LLink Before LaunchReal-owner Tesla referral guide
Plain-English privacy

Useful measurement. No session replay or personal profiles.

Link Before Launch uses a deliberately limited PostHog setup to understand which pages help and whether readers reach the Tesla referral link.

What is measured

Anonymous page and navigation events.

Page activityThe page path and page type, the page title, and whether the page remained visibly open for 30 seconds.
Important clicksClicks to the referral guide, Owner Journal, About page, and Cameron’s Tesla referral link.
Referral contextThe referring website’s domain when the browser provides it—not a full referring URL.
URL protectionQuery strings and page fragments are removed from analytics events before they are sent.
What is deliberately off

No replay, identification, forms, or copied text.

Session replayDisabled. The site does not record video-like replays of visits.
Broad autocaptureDisabled. The site records only the small allowlist of events described above.
Personal profilesThe site never calls PostHog’s identify function and does not send names, email addresses, account IDs, or Tesla account information.
Inputs and clipboardThe site does not capture form values, keystrokes, selections, or copied text.
Cookieless mode: The LinkBeforeCode PostHog project uses cookieless server-hash mode. The site does not set PostHog identity cookies or browser storage. PostHog strips the client IP before enrichment in this mode. Browser Do Not Track is also respected as a best-effort opt-out.

Analytics is processed in PostHog’s US Cloud for the LinkBeforeCode project. Ad blockers and browser privacy features may prevent some events, so analytics totals are directional rather than a perfect census.

For more about the analytics service, see PostHog’s privacy documentation.
